Artists' books are a great way to combine graphic design, art and craft. Making books by hand became important to me when graphic design was transitioning from mostly hand-work on a drawing table to computers. The computer is fascinating and the control over the work liberating, but I missed having a strong physical relationship with the ideas. Making small books allows personal expression as well as the sublime satisfaction of crafting something completely by hand.
